Posts | Settings
Posts do not have a settings page of their own. The settings that determine how your posts work are spread across the quotation settings, the general settings and the user roles. In this article we list them per location. How to build up a post itself is explained in Posts | General.
Quotation settings
Go to Settings > Quotations. You can find all quotation settings in Quotations | Settings; these have an influence on your posts.
Settings
Setting | Explanation |
|---|---|
Calculation | Switches the calculation on. Only then does the Calculated item action button appear in the item overview, which takes you to your post library. |
Show post nr. | Adds the Post column to the quotation lines. If you choose a post, the post number appears in that column. |
Show line nrs. | Adds the Nr. column to the quotation lines and the Nr. field to the post file. If you choose a post, that number becomes the line number, unless the line already has a number. |
Direct cost sharing depending on price | Determines how the direct costs are shared across the lines without a Cost allocation percentage: evenly across the lines, or in proportion to the price of the line. Lines with a cost allocation percentage always get that percentage. More explanation in Adding direct and indirect costs to your quotation |
Setting | Explanation |
|---|---|
Ignore 'Show composite line' from lines | A setting per pdf template, under Templates. If it is switched on, the build-up of all lines appears on the pdf, even if Show composite line on PDF is switched off on the line. This way you can, for example, make a separate pdf with the full build-up for internal use. You can read more about pdf templates in Deciding what appears on your pdf |
General settings
Go to Settings > General. You can find all general settings in General | Settings.
Master data
Setting | Explanation |
|---|---|
Gl-account | (under Financial) If you switch this on, the post file gets the Gl-account Sales and Gl-account Purchase fields. See Working with GL accounts. |
Activities | (under Others) If you switch this on, the calculation of the post gets the Activity column. See Working with activities. |
Unit types | (under Others) The units you can choose on the post and on the calculation lines. See Working with unit types. |
Type | (under Others) The types, such as SOG or VH, that you can choose in the Type field of the post. See Creating and using types. |
Settings
Setting | Explanation |
|---|---|
Restrict post to offers | If this is switched on, you can only choose posts in quotations and not in the lines of other modules, such as orders, invoices or supply orders. |
Amount #decimals
Setting | Explanation |
|---|---|
Amount #decimals | To how many decimals quantities are rounded and shown. If you round to, for example, 3 decimals in a formula, also set this to at least 3. |
Purchaseprice #decimals | To how many decimals cost prices are rounded, including the cost prices in the calculation of a post. |
Sale price #decimals | To how many decimals sales prices are rounded, including the prices in the calculation of a post. |
Under Styling you create the 8 layout styles that you choose in the Level field of a post. In the table with the line types you link a layout style and a font size to each line type; a quotation line gets that layout with the line type you choose in the Line field of the post. More explanation in Working with line types and chapters.
User roles
In a user role, under the Items module, there is a Calculated item tick box. You can only tick it if the role is allowed to view the items. If you tick it, the user gets access to the posts and the posts follow the permissions of the items module: anyone who may change or delete items may also do so for posts. Without this tick box, the user does not see the Calculated item action button. More explanation in Setting up the permissions of your users
