Using filters in the overview screen

In an overview screen you can work with standard filters and advanced filters. Filters let you narrow down the range and focus on a few specific searches.

There are 2 ways to use filters:

  1. Quick filters
  2. Advanced filters

Quick filters

You set up the quick filters via settings > module of your choice > overview > quick filters.

These filters are shown in the overview next to the 'search' field. They let you look something up very easily and quickly.

Example:
You have a quick filter 'status' in the invoice overview. By using this filter, you can easily get a selection of only the invoices with the status 'paid' in the overview screen.

Advanced filters

Besides the quick filters, you can also work with advanced filters. These advanced filters offer more possibilities.
To show deleted and archived documents, you have to use the advanced filters.

Depending on the field you want to filter on, you get the following options:

You enter the actual result.

You enter what the result may not be.

Period selection

When you filter on a date, you get various choices relating to the period of a date.

Depending on the type of field you get further options, such as 'contains', 'starts with', 'greater than' or 'is between'.

Example:
I want to show all archived invoices with the status 'paid'.
To do this, I use the advanced filters. First you tick the function 'Show archived items'. Then you add the filter 'Archived at' to make sure that you only get the archived invoices in the overview. Finally, you also add the filter 'status' to get the paid invoices.

The diacritic-insensitive search function (which ignores accented characters such as é, è and ü) works in the search bar of the overview, but not yet in the advanced filters.

Settings

You set up the quick filters via settings > module of your choice > overview > quick filters.
Quick filters apply per module and for all users. You can set up a maximum of 10 per module. You can set both standard fields and extra fields as a quick filter.
