The search function
In every overview screen in Robaws you can work with one or more keywords via the search bar, alongside working with filters (fast and advanced filters).
Use
With the search function in Robaws you can look something up using a few words or parts of words.
We explain this with an example:
I want to look up a quotation, but I have forgotten the name of the customer. All I know is that the quotation was drawn up by Charlotte, that the status is 'draft' and that the customer lives in Zwevegem.
You can enter your search in the search bar in various ways, for example:
- Charlotte draft Zwevegem
- Cha draft Zwevegem
- Cha dra Zwevegem
- charlotte dra zwevegem
The search function works on the principle of 'partial case insensitive matching':
- Partial matching: the search does not have to contain the full text. Part of the text is enough and the system still finds the right quotations.
- Case insensitive matching: capitalisation is ignored. Whether you type 'Charlotte' with a capital letter or 'charlotte' without one, you get the same result.
In addition, every space between the words is treated as an AND filter. In the example, we are therefore searching for a quotation from Charlotte AND draft AND Zwevegem.
Diacritic insensitive searching
Since July 2026 the search function is also diacritic insensitive. Accents (é, è, ç, ü, and so on) are ignored when you search: you therefore also find a value if you type it without the accent.
For example:
- searching for tele also returns télévision
- searching for Muller also returns Müller
This works in the search bar of the overviews and in the comboboxes (for example searching for an employee or a customer). It is currently enabled for the modules customers, projects, work orders, suppliers, orders, quotations, change orders, progress claims, invoices, incoming invoices, supply orders, dayplanning and items.
