Order vs. project
What is the difference between an order and a project? In short:
- A project is the file, or the peg, that collects various documents and shows a recalculation based on that data.
- An order can be part of a project, but you can also create it completely separately from a project. For an order confirmation or a pro forma you don't need an order: for those you use having documents signed digitally and pro forma invoices.
You use an order for, among other things, the maintenance of a particular installation. A number of actions work the same way in an order as in a project. Below is an overview.
Project and order
Files
Documents that you store in the Documents tab can be consulted internally in an order and in a project, and shared in Wappy.
Planning
Via the Planning tab you create a planning item directly from an order or a project. From an order it is usually linked to an installation; from a project it is more likely to concern various assignments.
Overview of media from work orders
All media (photos, files, ...) sent from Wappy to Robaws via a work order can be consulted in the linked order and/or project. To do so, click the paperclip next to the work orders:
- In an order: in the Overview block
- In a project: in the Overview tab
Order
If Use execution-based billing is switched on in the order settings, you find the Execution tab in an order. It shows all work orders and incoming invoices to which the order has been assigned. That way you get a clear view of all labour hours worked and the material consumed and invoiced.

From the order you then invoice the labour hours and the material. If you click Make invoice, you draw up an invoice according to one of these invoice strategies:

- Take all lines. The lines from the order, the work orders and the incoming invoices all appear on the invoice.
- Combine all lines and merge identical lines. Items that were registered more than once in work orders and/or incoming invoices are added together and put on the invoice as 1 line.
- Reduce each purchase invoice/work order to 1 line. All lines of an incoming invoice or work order are added together and put on the invoice per document as a total amount.
Once you have drawn up the invoice, the order and the invoiced documents automatically get the status Invoiced.
