The difference between a stock location and a stockplace

To apply optimal stock management in Robaws, stock locations and stockplaces can be used to store goods.
The difference between the two is not always clear and is explained below.

Field

Definition

Example

Stock location

The large space in which the item is stored.

Warehouse

Stockplace

The specific place within the space where the item is stored.

Rack 5 place 7.1

Stock location

These can be created via the 'items' module.
Via the overview of the items you can use the action button 'stock locations' to click through to the list of active stock locations, and you can add new ones this way.
This is also where you can see which items are located at this stock location, and where you can use the reorder function and quick order.

Stockplace

On the item file you can enter a stockplace in the 'stockplace' field. This is a free value that you can enter as you wish.
This field has no influence on the actual stock change, but it is a nice addition when you book a stock change via the Robaws App. There the items are grouped by stockplace.

You can only enter one general stockplace. You cannot enter a stockplace per stock location.
