Creating a stock location
A stock location is a space where the stock of the items is kept.
Examples of commonly used stock locations in Robaws:
- Warehouse
- Workshop
- Van
You can link one or more stock locations to an item in Robaws, depending on how many different stock locations this item is located at.
Adding a stock location is important for stock management and for the reorder function.
Creating a stock location
You create a stock location via the overview of the items. To do this you click the action button 'stock locations' (pie chart) at the top of the overview.
You are then taken to the list of stock locations, where you can create an extra stock location via the + sign.
The following settings are important here:
Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
Count as available stock | The stock of this stock location is counted in the actual stock of the item file. You cannot change this setting afterwards. |
Name | The name of the stock location. This name is used everywhere in Robaws (item, stock change, supply order). You can always change the name. |
Linking a stock location to an item
You can link a stock location to an item in 2 ways:
- A manual stock adjustment on an item file
- Carrying out a stock change for that item
A manual stock adjustment on the item file
To make a manual stock adjustment on an item file, you have to activate the setting 'Allow direct change of item stock'.
You find this setting via **settings > items > settings. **
Once you have activated this function, you can add a stock location in the 'stock' window on the item file and link a stock quantity to it.
Carrying out a stock change for that item
If you use stock management in Robaws, it is advisable to link the stock location to an item by making a stock change.
On the stock change you can fill in a 'from' or 'to' field to link the items to a stock location.
