Android scanners
With an Android barcode scanner you scan items straight in and out of your stock via the Robaws App. The scanner types the barcode into the app as keystrokes, so you first have to set the device up correctly. Below you will find the scanners our customers use and the settings you need.
Compatible scanners
The models below are used by our customers today, with very positive experiences:

This is not a certified list, but a list based on experience. Do make sure that the device has the Google Play Store, so that you can install the Robaws App. Are you unsure about the compatibility of your current scanner? In that case, contact your account manager.
Setting up the scanner in DataWedge
Android scanners have an app on board with the term "DataWedge" in its name. On Zebra devices this is DataWedge Profiles. We use that app in this guide. If you do not have a Zebra device, the screens may look slightly different in practice.
Create a new profile in DataWedge Profiles:
- Click the dots at the top right and choose New profile.
- Give the profile the name Robaws.
- Switch Profile enabled on.
- Under Associated apps, click the dots at the top right, choose New app/activity, then
be.eforge.bawsyand after that the character*. - Under Barcode input, tick the option Enabled.
- Are you using a gun trigger? Then also switch Hardware Trigger on.
- Under Keystroke output, switch the option Enabled on. Click Key event options underneath it and select Send Characters as Events.
- In the same category, go on to Basic Data Formatting and tick Enable, Send data and Send ENTER key.

Setting up the Robaws App
Then open the Robaws App and click the three horizontal lines at the top left. Choose settings.

- Under scan keycode, click the barcode. If you have a gun trigger, press it once. A number automatically appears with the keycode.
- Under stock location, you set the standard stock location in advance, if you want to.
From then on you go to the stock module in the app and scan items in or out, without manual entry.
The text on my scanner is too small
You solve that in the Android settings of the device itself:
- Go to the settings of the device.
- Click Accessibility.
- Adjust Font size and Display size as you wish. In the example below, both are set to small.

Is scanning still not working after that? The scanner and DataWedge are products of the manufacturer. For problems with the device itself, Zebra support will help you further via zebra.com/support. For questions about the Robaws App you can contact support@robaws.com.
