Connecting Peppol to Robaws or to your accounting software?

Both Robaws and most accounting packages are a recognised access point for Peppol. So you choose yourself through which access point you send your sales invoices and receive your incoming invoices. Below we set out the choice.

In Belgium, e-invoicing via Peppol between VAT liable parties is mandatory from 1 January 2026. Other countries have different rules and dates — check this with your accountant.

Sales invoices

Do you want to send your sales invoices from Robaws to your customers via Peppol? Then it is logical to activate Peppol in Robaws.

You can also choose to create your invoices in Robaws, forward them to your accounting package and send them via Peppol from there. That flow is rarely followed: you then lose the overview from A to Z in one tool and follow-up becomes more difficult.

Incoming invoices

Your suppliers also send their invoices via Peppol. Per party these can only be received through one recognised access point — that is a limitation of the Peppol network itself. So you have to choose: either you receive them in Robaws, or in your accounting software.

The logical flow is that you receive incoming invoices in Robaws, handle them there and then forward them to your accounting software at the touch of a button.

From an accounting point of view you do not have to receive your incoming invoices in Robaws, but it does bring you a lot:

Setting up an approval flow so that certain invoices are first checked and approved by the project leader or someone else
Generating a payment file from Robaws
Confidential invoices that are only visible to certain users
A link to projects for a complete recalculation
A link to equipment so that you know the yearly equipment and maintenance cost
A link to supply orders so that you keep the overview
An overview of all incoming invoices per supplier
No separate pre-accounting software needed any more (e.g. Billit, Lucy or OkiOki), which saves costs
All administration in one piece of software
