Tracking pixel
When sending an email, Robaws can include a tracking pixel: a tiny image at the bottom of the email. As soon as the recipient loads that image, we know that the email has been opened. In combination with statuses, this lets you follow up in Robaws what happens with your quotation or invoice.
Settings
You switch the tracking on via settings > email, with the 'Tracking enabled' switch. It is on by default and applies to all outgoing emails from your environment.
Follow-up via statuses
To be able to follow up, you set up an email template. On that template you enter two statuses:
- a 'sent' status: this is applied as soon as the email leaves;
- a 'read' status: this is applied as soon as the tracking pixel in the sent email has been loaded.
You set up these automatic statuses via settings > module of your choice > email templates.
In the overview of sent emails you see when an email was sent and when it was read. Only the first time it is opened is registered; later times no longer change the timestamp.
Limitations
Also good to know: because the pixel is an image that is loaded from outside, some spam filters look out for it. If your emails end up in the junk mail folder of your customers, switching off the tracking is one of the first things you can try. Read more about this in Email ends up in spam.
