Can I use time norms on an item?
A time norm is a set amount of labour (in hours) that may be charged when an item is installed. The time that may be charged depends on the item, the context (new build, renovation, etc.) and the execution.
The advantage of using time norms is that you can draw up your quotation faster and more accurately, because the labour hours are added automatically as an extra line in the substructure.
Creating time norms
To use the time norms, you have to activate this in 2 places via the settings:
- Activate via **settings > items > master data > time norms. **Here you give the time norm a name.
- Go a bit further down the page to** settings > items > time norms. ** Here you can set which working hours are linked to it.
We have already created 4 time norms; these are the same as the time norms used in 2BA.
The use of the time norms takes place in 2 modules:
- Items: creating the correct values
- Quotations: adding an item with a time norm to a calculated quotation
Item file
As soon as the settings above are correct, you have a 'time norms' window on the item file.
You add the amount of labour linked to the execution phase on the item file. This can be done in 2 ways:
Once the values have been created, you can choose a default execution phase at the top right. This execution phase is used by default on the quotation. If this field is not filled in, the top line is always used on the quotation. Of course, it is always possible to change this execution phase on the quotation, in the 'time norm' column.
Adding manually
Directly on the item file you can create execution phases manually, with the accompanying time norms per context.
To do so, go through the following steps:
- Click '+ add'
- Create an execution phase
- Enter the values per context

Link with 2BA
2BA already links time norms to their items where these apply. You can find them in the webshop on the item file, under the 'time norms' tab.
These time norms can be imported along with an item when you import it from the 2BA webshop.
To import this correctly, it is important that the integration settings in Robaws are correct. You can set these via settings > integrations > 2BA.
Via the settings you can link the time norms from 2BA to the correct time norms in Robaws.

Time norms in a quotation
When you create a calculated quotation, you have an extra 'time norm' field. There you choose a time norm that applies to the entire quotation. This matters when you load items that have time norms linked to them.
Once an item with a time norm has been loaded into a quotation, an extra line with cost type 'labor' is added in the substructure.
That line is based on the time norm set on the quotation, taking into account the default execution phase from the item file.
Via settings > items > time norm it is possible to add a default article. This is an hour code that may always be used on the labour line that is added to the quotation. If no default article has been set here, a blank line is added without an item, but with the correct value of the time norm.
