Calculating the correct price when your supplier uses a different unit

If your supplier uses a different unit from the one you use in Robaws for this item, you can register this on the item suppliers of an item file.
By using the field 'quantity in package', you can determine the cost price of the item on the basis of the purchase price at the supplier.

Quantity in package is the number of pieces of the stock unit that are contained in the purchase unit.

This feature has a twofold function:

Determining the correct price of the item: the supplier's purchase price is divided by the quantity in package to determine the cost price.
Booking the correct quantity for the purposes of stock management.

Example 1

I order paint from the supplier Colora. The tins of paint are delivered per box, and there are 6 pieces in the box.
The stock unit is 'piece', while the purchase unit is 'box'.

1 box = € 80.00	box	piece	6	1 piece = 80.00 €/6 = 13.33€

Example 2

I order screws from the supplier Apok. I have to order these per pallet, and a pallet holds 50 boxes each containing 100 screws.
The stock unit in Robaws is 'piece', while the purchase unit at the supplier is 'pallet'.
