Alternative sales units

The 'alternative sales units' function can be used to convert one specific unit into other units.

Use

We explain the use of this function by means of an example.
As an item we use: MDF board - 2440 x 1220 mm - 18mm

On the item file you see a label icon next to the field 'unit'. If you click it, you can enter one or more alternative sales units in the pop-up window that opens. The sales unit = piece. For the item MDF board we indicate that 1 piece = 2.98 m².

In the quotation you can add the item in the substructure of a line. You can change the unit of this item to one of the alternative sales units you have set.
If you change the unit to m² in this way, you will notice that a conversion takes place immediately on the price of the item.

If you then create a supply order based on the items from the quotation and you have applied an alternative sales unit, the quantity to be ordered is shown on the basis of the sales unit of the item.

According to the example above, on the basis of 10 m² you will therefore order 3.36 boards. This quantity can of course be rounded up to 4 whole boards.
