Giving a user access to the API

Would you like to integrate Robaws seamlessly into your own website, CRM or internal tools?

Our API offers the flexibility to exchange data between different systems securely and at high speed.
In this article we explain how to give a user access to the API, because this does not happen automatically, of course.

You can give a user access to the API only, without being able to log in to Robaws. In that case the user is completely free of charge.

You can find all information about using the API through this link.

Creating a user

To create a user who only has access to the API, work through the following steps:

  1. Create a new user.
  2. Add a user role to the user that determines which modules this user should have access to through the API.
  3. Tick the 'API-only' checkbox.

Adding an API key to a user

Once you have created the user and worked through the steps above, you have to give the user an API key.
To create this API key for the user, work through the following steps:

  1. Set the toggle next to API access to active
  2. Click 'New access key' on the right
  3. You get a pop-up with the access key and the secret of the key

With this API access key you can use the open API of Robaws.

Keep the secret of the key somewhere safe, because you only get it when you create it. Once you close the dialog you can no longer see it.
