# Wappy | Registering the material used

On a work order in [Wappy](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-bmkzk0/) your employee registers the **material they used**. You do this via the **third tab 'material'**. There you click the **+ sign** at the bottom right and choose how you want to search for the item:

* [searching the item library](#2-searching-the-item-library);
* [choosing via the item groups](#2-choosing-via-the-item-groups);
* [loading the Bill of Materials of a project](#2-loading-the-bill-of-materials-of-a-project);
* [scanning with the camera](#2-scanning-with-the-camera);
* [adding an item via a description](#2-adding-an-item-via-a-description).

Registering material is part of the **Standard** and **Teams** [Wappy plans](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-licences-c9uch7/).

## Searching the item library

1. Click **'search'**. You get to see the complete item library from Robaws.
2. Scroll through the list or type a search term in the search bar at the top.
3. Click the item to add it to the work order.
4. In the window that opens, complete the extra information: installation, activity, post, description, Time & Materials, unit and quantity.
5. Click the back arrow to go to the work order and add the item.

## Choosing via the item groups

1. Click **'choose'**. You get an overview of all [item groups](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/item-groups-1pbd7ca/) from Robaws.
2. Search the item groups for the right item.
3. Click the item to add it to the work order.
4. Complete the extra information: installation, activity, post, description, Time & Materials, unit and quantity.
5. Click the back arrow to go to the work order and add the item.

## Loading the Bill of Materials of a project

If a project is attached to the work order, you load all the materials that are on the **quotation of that project** in one go.

1. Click **'Bill of Materials'**. You get the list of all materials on the quotation of the project.
2. Click the item to add it to the work order.
3. Complete the extra information: installation, activity, post, description, Time & Materials, unit and quantity.
4. Click the back arrow to go to the work order and add the item.

## Scanning with the camera

In Robaws you assign a [barcode or QR code](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/working-with-barcodes-ixufpl/) to an item. Handy if you work with a warehouse where stock comes in and goes out.

1. Click **'scanner'**.
2. Scan the barcode or QR code with the camera of your smartphone.
3. Complete the extra information: installation, activity, post, description, Time & Materials, unit and quantity.
4. Click the back arrow to go to the work order and add the item.

|| Your [equipment](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/equipment-rq3nls/) and your [installations](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/installations-1o8lgdd/) can carry a code too, via the **serial number** field on their file. That is why Wappy looks for a scanned code **with your equipment first and only afterwards with your items**. If that piece of equipment is attached to an item, you get to see that item.

||| Do you work with a real [Android scanner](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/android-scanners-pajqg3/)? Then you do not need this function: you simply scan with the device itself.

## Adding an item via a description

The item does not have to exist in Robaws. You can also add a loose item with an ordinary description.

1. Fill in the details. The **description** field is the most important one: it tells the customer on the work order which item is involved.
2. Click the back arrow to go to the work order and add the item.

## Adding several items at once or deleting something

You can add several items in one go: press and hold an item and then work with the check boxes. With the item groups and the Bill of Materials you can also do this across different groups.

||| With a selection of several items you confirm at the bottom. You then do not get a window in which to complete the extra information — click the item afterwards to add that information.
