# Wappy | Registering hours worked

On a work order in [Wappy](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-bmkzk0/) your employee registers their **hours worked**, among other things. You do this via the **second tab 'hours'**. There are three ways to register those hours, and you decide yourself which ones are available via **settings > work orders > wappy**:

* [calculating hours from the work order](#2-calculating-hours-from-the-work-order);
* [adding hours manually](#2-adding-hours-manually);
* [recording hours with the timer](#2-recording-hours-with-the-timer).

Registering your own hours is part of **all Wappy plans**. Entering hours for other employees is only possible with the **Teams** plan (see the [Wappy plans](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-licences-c9uch7/)).

## Calculating hours from the work order

A work order that comes out of the dayplanning or that you [created in Wappy yourself](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-creating-a-work-order-mkhfh2/) has a start and end time. If you click **'calculate'**, Wappy registers that employee's hours on the basis of that start and end time.

| You can still adjust those hours afterwards: click the frame of the registered hours. You will find the explanation of each field below under [adding hours manually](#2-adding-hours-manually).

## Adding hours manually

Click **'+ add'**. A window opens in which you fill in the details of the hours. Which fields you see depends on your [Wappy settings](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-settings-1ujjkcj/) — below you will find all of them:

* **Employee:** by default the employee who enters the hours. With the **Teams** plan you can also add hours for colleagues.
* **Time operation:** the time operation that applies.
* **Hour type:** the [hour type](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/what-are-hour-types-1q2h05/) that applies. Important for the time check.
* **Activity:** the [activity](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/working-with-activities-nhyj6m/) that applies.
* **Post:** the post on which the hours are booked. Important if you want to split the [recalculation](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/project-recalculation-1sitd2t/) per post.
* **Start and end:** the start and end time of the work carried out.
* **Pause:** the break that is deducted from the total registered hours worked.
* **Time & Materials:** tick this if they are Time & Materials hours. Robaws creates a separate work order for everything that is registered as Time & Materials.

You can also add a **remark**. In Robaws that remark ends up on the line of the hours on the work order. If you use equipment, you register the [material hours](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/wappy-registering-material-hours-waaz7v/) in the same way.

| You can register several blocks of hours on one work order. That way you make a clear distinction between different kinds of work.

|| Do your employees not see the '+ add' button? Then switch on **Show add time button** via **settings > work orders > wappy**. You switch the fields hour type, activity, post, pause and start/end on or off there with the settings **Hour Types**, **Activities**, **Post**, **Enter pause** and **Enter the start/stop time**.

## Recording hours with the timer

With the start-stop button you let a timer run for as long as the work is running:

1. Click the **'play' button** at the bottom right to start the timer.
2. Fill in the details of the hours. This window only appears if the **Accelerated entry start/stop** setting is switched on.
3. Click the **'stop' button** at the bottom right to stop the timer.

| Is a timer running? Then you can see that in the overview of the work orders from a green rotating border around the work order.
