# Notifications

Robaws alerts you with a **notification** when something needs your attention: someone mentions you in a comment, an [Automation flow](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/robaws-automation-1n5kuwm/) sends you a reminder, or an e-mail could not be delivered. You find your notifications via the **bell** at the top. The number on the bell shows how many unread notifications you have.

## The overview of your notifications

Click the bell to open the overview of your notifications. It works like the other [overview screens](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/using-overview-screens-10zscoo/): you [filter](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/using-filters-in-the-overview-screen-jhinln/), [sort](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/sorting-in-the-overview-screen-1q64jwl/), search and save your own [tabs](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/working-with-tabs-in-the-overview-screen-1uez0cm/). You only see your own notifications.

By default, the **All notifications** view opens, with the date, the title and the document the notification is about, newest first. With the quick filter **Unread**, you keep only the notifications you have not opened yet. Unread notifications have a blue background in the overview.

## Opening a notification

Click a notification to open it. You then see the full content and, under **Concerning**, a link to the document it is about, for example the work order, the invoice or the e-mail. Some notifications also contain attachments or a link to a help article. A notification you open is immediately marked as read.

## Marking notifications as read

To mark notifications as read without opening them one by one, use the **Mark as read** action button at the top of the overview:

* Tick the notifications and click the action button: only the ticked notifications are marked as read.
* If you tick nothing, Robaws asks whether you want to mark all notifications as read.

The number on the bell updates immediately.

## Setting the columns of the standard overview

Which columns appear by default in the notifications overview is set by an administrator via **settings > Notifications**, in the **Overview** card. This applies to everyone in your environment. You adjust your own tabs yourself.

## Notifications by e-mail or in the Robaws App

If a user also wants to receive their notifications by e-mail, enable the **Email notifications** setting on that [user](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/adding-a-new-user-frez0i/).

In the [Robaws App](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/robaws-app-xq6yqo/#2-notifications) you find the same notifications. A notification you open there is also marked as read in Robaws.
