# Choosing the font on your documents

In Robaws we use a **standard font.** The font we use is Helvetica, 10 points.
It is not possible to set a font per pdf document. That way we make sure all your pdf documents have the same [layout](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/creating-different-layout-styles-1l4kold/).

## Setting up your own styling

Via  **settings > general > PDF > styling **you can set up a particular [layout](https://support.robaws.com/en/article/creating-different-layout-styles-1l4kold/) that is then applied to your document.
* bold, italic, colour, background colour
* you can set the font size per line type


## Setting up your own font

If you have your own house style with a fixed font, you can deviate from our standard font by uploading a font of your own.

1. Only free Google fonts are allowed. You can find and download them [here](https://fonts.google.com/).
2. Download the .ttf file (TrueType font file)
3. Upload it under **settings > general > PDF > PDF Fonts.** You can upload a separate font file for **Normal**, **Bold**, **Italic** and **Italic Bold**.

## Where is this own font used?

This font is used only when generating a pdf document. The fixed column titles are shown in the font you upload under **Bold**. If you only upload a font under **Normal**, the column titles stay in the standard font.

**Note:** custom PDF fonts are not supported when the **Enable Markdown support** setting (settings > general > PDF) is switched on. Robaws then uses the standard font again.
